In honor of World Environment Day 2021, PLDT Inc. and its subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. announced a tripartite partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for e-waste disposal. The collaboration, also involving DENR-EMB Region 3 and JMR Trade & Transport Services, focuses on proper collection, transport, disposal, and recycling of electronic and hazardous waste from cellsites and offices.
E-waste, including discarded phones, tablets, computers, chargers, and accessories, along with hazardous waste like used lead acid batteries and fiber optic cables, will be targeted in this initiative.
